HISTORY

Malcolm Eaton’s beginning can be traced back to 1966 when a group of concerned parents and community members banded together to provide services for children with disabilities in our community.

Many years later Malcolm Eaton Enterprises has grown into a regional agency, providing programs and services to more than 200 adults with developmental disabilities each day. While the types of programs and services we provide has changed, our commitment to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities has always remained the same.

SPIRIT

Since 2002, Malcolm Eaton Enterprises has been the home of Spirit brand bathroom Tissue. You might wonder why a not-for-profit agency serving individuals with developmental disabilities would decide to make and sell bathroom tissue. The answer is simple: Because of the opportunities!

The production of Spirit paper provides valuable, hands on, work experience and provides many of the individuals we serve with a job they can call their own. When you purchase Spirit paper, you are making a real difference in the lives of men and women with disabilities in our community.

HELP

Malcolm Eaton Enterprises

In 2002, MALCOLM EATON Enterprises took its production center to a new level by manufacturing a product of its own: bathroom tissue. You might wonder why a not-for-profit agency would decide to make and sell bathroom tissue. The answer is simple: Because of the opportunities. Spirit allows us to grow the spirit of our organization. It teaches important job skills and instills pride in the individuals receiving services at MEE.

Events

Malcolm Eaton Enterprises participates in a number of fundraising events each year. The events we participate in include the Don Morse Golf Invitational, the Cub Foods Brats Stand, the Bocker/NICC Car show, Freeport Area Eats and Beats, the Freeport Threshing Show, and the Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll drive. All of these events require a large number of volunteers to coordinate and conduct.
